BBC Test Card for Internet TV
 


This is the BBC Test Card in the Common Internet TV Format, 240 lines by 320 pixels at 30 frames per second. The Test Card is used to check that your TV or Computer Monitor is displaying pictures correctly, and for making adjustments to Brightness, Contrast, Colour and Geometry.
  • The upper 3 frequency gratings to the right of the centre circle should be resolved.
  • The grey scale on the left should show 6 different levels of brightness from black to white, in boxes of equal size with no colouration.
  • The girl in the centre circle should have natural fleshtones.
  • The X in the centre of the "noughts and crosses" game on the blackboard should be at the centre of the picture.
  • The colour bars in the strip at the top should appear in this order from left to right:
    White, Yellow, Cyan, Green, Magenta, Red, Blue, Black.
  • The sound is stereo "GLITS Tone", 6dB below peak level at 1kHz.
    Left channel is indicated by single interruptions at intervals of approximately 4 seconds.
    Right channel is indicated by double interruptions at intervals of approximately 4 seconds.

This is the Test Card in 1024 x 576 format, suitable for widescreen 16x9 "PAL" display from a PC source. Black level is 000 and White level is 255. The below black level spot in the right hand side of the black section of the greyscale is shown as black. The super white level spot in the right hand side of the white section of the greyscale is shown as white.
